This program allows the user to play MIDI music files in specific directories. It does not allow then to accidentally do anything else.
As can be seen in the screen view the program runs full screen with no menus, minimize buttons to distract or confuse the user. In addition this prevents accidentally starting programs, saving files, etc..
This program should be run from the menu program so that if the EXIT icon is clicked they return to the menu. It dose not require any double clicking. Clicking once on one of the music pictures brings up a file list. Clicking once on a file name plays the MIDI file.
My son used this program when he
was 1 ½ years old. Even though he couldn’t read he still managed
to find and play his favorite song.
This program is extremely directory sensitive. If you don’t create the directories and sub directories correctly and spell then like I have, it will not work! Also its intended to run at 800 X 600 64000 colors.
here is the directory structure:
I have included a few of my own midi files. The following are intended for the children’s directory and should be placed in C:\wcwlite\barn
The following are for the early music directory C:\wcwlite\early
Here is an attempt at a Soleares for the directory C:\wcwlite\guitar
You can download more MIDI files and place then in the appropriate directory.
Try the Classical MIDI Archives http://www.prs.net/midi.html for a large collection of Classical MIDI files.
Download grovb.zip 189 kb Dated Sep 09 1999.
Several programs require the system files GAUGE.VBX, SPIN.VBX, MCI.VBX and THREED.VBX in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. If you don’t already have them you can get them here. Download VBFILES.ZIP 62.5 kb.
